Title I News

April 2018

It was nice to see many of you at the Curriculum Fair at CES on Thursday, March 15.  We hope you enjoyed seeing some of the materials and manipulatives that we use when we provide supplemental services to your children.

The brochure for the North Country Title I Conference has been sent home to all Title I parents.  The conference this year features two Math Educators and dinner is provided.  Please contact me if you would like to attend.  The date is Tuesday, April 10 at the Town and Country Inn in Shelburne, NH.

Title I is in the process of planning our Summer Learning Camp.  Last year’s parent surveys indicated a desire to increase the camp from three weeks to four.  This exciting addition to our camp is a possibility, it is being looked into, and details will be sent home soon.  As always, if you are interested in your child attending, we understand vacation schedules and do not expect, although we would love to see, 100% attendance.

If you have any questions about any part of the Title I program, please call me at 237-4801, ext. 214.

Title I News

February 2018

Colebrook Elementary School’s Title I Staff, Mrs. Bailey, Mrs. Dionne, Mrs. Kenny, and Ms. Thatcher enjoy working with your children and hope they are sharing with you what we are doing as we provide supplemental services to them.

Our annual meeting was held on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at CES.  Those who could not attend were sent home the Home/School Learning Compacts to sign.  Thanks for sending them back in to me as they are required to be in your child’s records.  I also asked parents if they were interested in receiving the Frog Family Fun Packs each week, and those of you who requested they be sent home will see them soon.

The North Country Title I Directors are planning the 18th annual North Country Title I Conference on April 5.  The conference brochures will be distributed in late February or early March.

I hope that you are enjoying the monthly Title I newsletters being sent home with the CES newsletter.  There are many great language and math tips and suggestions on helping your child at home.  I especially liked the article on the front page about Critical Thinking.

If you have any questions about any part of the Title I program, please call me at 237-4801, ext. 214.

Title I News January 2018

Happy New Year from the Title I Staff at Colebrook Elementary School!

I hope that you can attend our annual Parent meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 6:00-7:00 in the CES Library.  This is the meeting that was postponed from October.  Please try to attend this meeting to discuss your Title I program with myself and other parents.

Title I purchased Parent Homework Dictionaries that can be borrowed if you are interested.  These are designed to help parents/adults understand homework their children bring home from school.  It’s impossible to remember concepts you haven’t seen or used in years, so that is the reasoning behind the book.  We have them in regular book size or in pocket size.  If you wish to borrow one, please contact me.

The North Country Title I Directors are planning the 18th annual North Country Title I conference in April.  This event will take place at WMRHS and Title I parents are invited to attend.  The conference brochures will be distributed in late February or early March.

The Title I monthly newsletter is being sent home to Title I parents along with the school newsletter.  These are full of tips and ideas on ways to help your children succeed in school.  I hope that you enjoy reading them!  I especially like the article on the front page about Growth Mindset.  The word YET is a great one to use with our students:  “You might not understand this YET but you will if you keep trying!”

If you have any ques
