Week of November 5-9


6th Grade:

Spelling:  Unit 11:  VCCV and VCCCV Patterns
             
                
                            
Grammar:  The students will be doing the topic, Connotation and Denotation on Study Island. 
                   
        
                   

Literature:      Students will read Chapter 14 in the book, The Face on the Milk Carton, by Caroline Cooney.
                      Students will review non-fiction reading strategies. 
                       




                     
                               
7th Grade:

Spelling:  Unit 11:  Words Often Confused
                
                           
Grammar:  Study Island assignment on the topic, Connotation and Denotation(7A) and Figurative Meanings(7B).

Literature:    Students will continue reading, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, by Mildred Taylor.
                    Students will give their oral presentations of a Civil Rights' event or a person.
                    
                     
                     
                   
                    
                  
                   
8th Grade:

Spelling:  Unit 11:  Words Often Confused
                            

Grammar:    Study Island assignment on the topic, Cultural Literature.

Literature:     Both classes will continue reading, Anne Frank:  The Diary of a Young Girl and
                      we will continue our unit on the Holocaust.  The students in both classes will
